Well, I realize that this is from forever ago, but you didn't offend me or anything (I don't get offended very easily). Personally, I agree with you, he is a Mary-Sue. I chalk it up to inexperience since DBNB was the first story I ever wrote. If I was more motivated, I'd go back and fix things... perhaps some day. I don't think it would be super hard to at least tone it way down... he'd still be the main character because that's just how the story goes, but I could make him less of a Mary-Sue.
